My dream was odd. For me anyways. I could smell smoke, but there was no fire. I could see a red liquid on the ground, but no one was wounded. I could hear people shouting, but where are the voices coming from?  I tried to run towards the direction of the voices, but I felt like I was being held back. Soon, I felt something hitting me on the back of my head. I opened my eyes, looking at my alarm clock that was on my nightstand. The alarm was going off.

"It's five 'o clock? Already?" I mumbled to myself. I reached over, turned off the alarm and fell back asleep. After I fell asleep I felt something hitting me on the shoulder.  I refused to wake up, I put my pillow over my head and let out a growl.

"Corlinn! Get up or I'll make you to get up." Lily said with an annoyed voice. There was silence, Lily was waiting for me to reply. I chose not to. The silence continued for two or three minutes. "Fine!"

I felt two hands around my ankles and in a second or two I was on the ground. I growled as Lily let go of my ankles so I could get up. Lily smiled, trying to look innocent, but to me it was devilish grin. I hated mornings, to me it meant the beginning of staying low and acting like a normal human being. Nothing is normal.

"Hello? Earth to Corlinn! We need to go to school!" Lily shouted at me. I glared at her.

"Oh… Right. The werewolf's nightmare.  Loud noises everywhere and what they call food is usually fruits, bread and vegetables."  I growled as I walked out of my room. Lily ran past me.

"Corlinn, it can't be that bad!" Lily joked as she ran down the stairs.  I ignored that. I slowly walked down the stairs, I saw my back pack on the couch in the living room. I walked over towards it and picked it up. I saw Lily ran out the door and climbed over the gate. I sighed with annoyance again as I threw my black backpack on my back as I ran out the door also. I unlocked the gate, walked through it, closed and locked it before I ran to catch up with Lily.  Lily and I raced to school. The bell rang as we enter the school building. Everyone was going to their first class.

"See? We were almost late for school." Lily said to me in a blaming voice.

"Almost." I said with an annoyed tone in my voice. As much as I hated mornings I also hate talking about every little detail about my school and classes. So here is the summary of what happened on this Friday school day. My first class, history, the teacher slammed a history text book on my desk to wake me up.  Next class, world mythology, surprised my teacher again by answering every single question he asked correctly, no surprise there. Lunch, I eat a turkey sandwich… Well, I ate the turkey part. Next class, math, beware of man and mythical creature-eating math problems. Last class, literature, the teacher made us write two pages about what we think of school and so on… When the bell rang, everyone put away their stuff and rushed out the door. Lily caught up to me.

"Well?" Lily said with a happy voice.

"Well what?" I growled.

"Do you still think school is a werewolf's nightmare?" Lily asked.

"Yes." I answered. We both were walking home as the sun was setting. When the sun was gone the moon took its place. I know the moon wasn't full, it was far from being a full moon, but at least there is a bit of moonlight. I listened to the sounds around me.  Lily and I passed the library, still walking home.

"Corlinn. You know the forest that is located on the outskirts of the city?" Lily asked. I nodded. "Maybe we should explore there."

"Sure." I said happily.

"And maybe Kurst can come!" Lily gleefully said. I growled. I can't believe Lily would act like Kurst is her sister. I mean, that vampire attacked me! Lily looked at me. "Corlinn. You shouldn't hold a grudge. It's bad for your health."

I didn't say anything. Lily opened the gate, we walked through, and I closed and locked the gate again. We both entered the house, threw our back packs onto the couch in the living room. Kurst and our mom were both talking to each other in the kitchen.

"Hey mom! Hi Kurst!" Lily said. "Kurst, do you want to come with me and Corlinn to explore the forest that's on the outskirts of the city?"

"Okay.  But isn't that far?" Kurst asked.

"Dude. You're a vampire. And you are talking to two other mythical creatures. To a human it's far away. " I said.

"Besides, we know a short cut!" Lily said with a smile. "And Kurst did you… Um…"

"Did you eat today?" I finished Lily's question.

"She already did." Jay answered the question. "You three can go. Just be careful and be back before sunrise."

The three of us nodded and ran out the door. I ran towards the backyard with Lily and Kurst following me. I was running towards the old wooden fence that separated the houses property and the woods. I jumped over the fence and landed on my feet. Lily jumped up and landed on a tree branch above me, she was showing off again. Then Kurst jumped over the fence… And fell on top of me.

"Sorry Corlinn." Kurst apologized to me as Lily was laughing.

"Apology accepted. Now get off of me!" I shouted. Kurst got off of me. I got up and brushed myself off. I began to walk away from Kurst and Lily and towards the outskirts of the city. Lily and Kurst followed behind me. I pretended that I could not hear them whispering.

"Is Corlinn always like that?" Kurst asked. There was silence. "So, how come she's acting like that then?"

"You started on the wrong foot with her." Lily replied.

"Oh." Kurst said in a sad tone. There was silence again. I stopped and looked around. Lily and Kurst stopped also. For the last few minutes these woods were quiet. There was no wind, and it seemed that the nocturnal creatures were extremely quiet to.

"Well… Hello there." A deep voice said. I growled as Kurst looked around with fear in her eyes, Lily snarled and she stood her ground.

I'm sorry that the second chapter seems to be short... ^^;
